Prague-Vysocany Brownfields Revitalization
THE LARGEST REVITALIZATION PLAN IN PRAGUE NEXT TO SAZKA ARENA
In Prague, in an attractive valley by Rokytka stream, and greatly connected by public and individual transport to near downtown, is a disconsolate place with historic, but scrubby Kolben-Danek & Praga plant and surroundings used as storage of anything at the end of 20th century. In The Urban Plan of Prague figure a new residential, commercial and sport town here plus verdure at south slopes.
My idea was to perfectly restore this great old bricked and steeled zone and transform it with the whole area to a very attractive place, where you come to spend a day to relax or the whole life. The monumental ex-plants are partly destroyed, revitalized or replaced with new development - baths, hotels, administrative, summer waterpark with great attractions and beach, university campus, etc. The new town is encircled by a a new east-west traffic corridor (for cars, highspeed railway) and underground - ready lane B. Thats why these buildings stand around mostly residential building with squares inside. The old buildings are used in new modern complexes with business, entertainment, shopping, services, restaurants and underground parking. You can also find many small shops, grills - every your need, so you can enjoy a peace of the fabulous town.
Going south there is a central park with small lakes surrounded by trees, sport field, alleys and a waterfront meadows. The new should complement the old in harmony, the same with vertical and horizontal lines. The old romantic smoke-stacks show the history of place and are used as view-towers.
