THE STUDY OF HOUSING IN RECREATIONAL AREA IN MOUNTAINS
A Danish investor was fascinated with local nature so much, that he came to an idea to build a large group of apartment houses to rent and retail mostly to foreign clients on the plot approved by Land-use plan of ing.arch.I.Kaplan. He acquired a piece of land adjacent to village at the foot of the highest mountain Klinovec in Czech North Mountains, with ski resort and other recreational activities.
Our objective was to design an apartment development with necessary facilities (restaurant, indoor sports, ski and bike rentals, maintenance) and possibility to grow further. Prime sketches first off solves an urban settlement and numbers of units possible, the particular architectural design of buildings was focused later. The investor would like to maximize the number of accommodated people of course, but we need to consider carefully and balance, what the village and surroundings can sustain - technically, concerning capacity, but also psychologically.
We designed the development, some layouts and the visualizations.
